1st Fire of the Season

This morning we were warned of a high fire alert due to low humidity, strong winds, and warming temperatures. Temps are surely climbing. Right now it's about 85*, but by Sunday we should be reaching mid-90's. Sure enough, today we had our first fire of the season. I understand that it is still burning. No structures are threatened yet, but there was a voluntary evacuation. The fire is really close to a school, so hopefully all the kids were evacuated safely.

  1. Hopefully they can contain it rather quickly. Where is the fire at?

We've had cloudy and rainy weather lately so that has really helped the wildfires here, thank goodness. The big one that was 30 mins south of us is slowly but surely being contained.

    In the 90's...YUCK!! lol

  2. The fire is in Walnut Creek near the Shell Ridge open space and behind Indian Valley School. I just read that as of 6:30pm this evening the fire has become a 2 alarm blaze.

Glad to hear that the wildfire near you is being contained. We could use some of your weather here. The winds aren't helping at all.
